International musical documentary project

The problem
Heritage nobody sees
Right now, somewhere in the world, artists are keeping a musical heritage alive.
They share it only with their local community. The world doesn't know it exists.

The solution

An almanac of living tradition
ALLFOLK brings together musicians and video artists from around the world to preserve everything people have passed down from one generation to the next.
Each season explores a specific instrument, playing style, or region.

One season, three formats
Video
Captures the atmosphere and visual code of the place the artist calls home.
Album
The audio version of each season — released digitally and on vinyl.
Article
A deeper written exploration of each season, published on our site.

Season 1
Qaratau Shertpesi
Here's how it works
in practice.

The dombra
and the Karatau mountains
The first season is built around the dombra - Kazakhstan's two-stringed national instrument
and the Shertpe school, born in the Karatau mountains.
Shertpe is a soft, meditative way of playing, unlike the sharper western Kazakh tökpe tradition. It was born in these mountains, so we filmed it in the very place where it originated.

A living timeline
Five musicians, not just performers of one tradition - its living timeline.
Together, they carry 10 compositions in this style, including original pieces written by the teacher himself.

A bridge between generations
At the heart of the season is an interview with a teacher
who has spent years training the next generation of musicians.
He speaks about his goal - to raise a new generation.
The next video in the season is a boy, playing.

Bata (Ritual Close)
The season ends with bata - a Kazakh blessing that the elder gives to the next generation of musicians. Not just the end of a playlist. A ritual that closes the cycle of transmission.
Qaratau Shertpesi isn't an archive of music. It's a story about how a tradition stays alive.

A contribution
to a shared culture
Digital versions of the project are freely available.
Other artists are welcome to use the samples in their own work.
Vinyl and merch are how people can support the project directly.

Partnership model
Culture, made visible
Projects like this have a track record: brands have long funded the discovery and preservation of cultural traditions - not for direct revenue, but for the association with cultural significance and talent discovery.
A partner gets POWERED BY - named attribution on every video, every season page, every vinyl release
Ready-made CSR / ESG content - a concrete, documented cultural initiative

What we're looking for
Partnering on future seasons
Starting with a vinyl release of Season 1
